Why This Shopify TCG Importer Update Matters
Version 1.3 introduces a completely redesigned import modal across cards, sealed products, and the View All Cards workflow. The new layout is built to feel cleaner, faster, and more premium for Shopify trading card stores managing large catalogues.

- Moved markup controls closer to pricing for a cleaner workflow.
- Added optional Import Price editing for cards and sealed products.
- Changed new store default markup behaviour so stores can start from 0 unless they set their own default.
- Improved price calculations so store default markup is applied immediately when the import modal opens.
Safety Net
Cleaner Live Pricing Sync and Safety Net Controls
Live Pricing Sync has been refined to make it easier for Shopify TCG stores to automate pricing while protecting margins.
- Renamed and simplified Live Pricing Sync controls.
- Grouped markup, live pricing, and safety net price inside a dedicated Pricing Settings section.
- Moved Safety Net Price beside the live pricing workflow so it is easier to understand.

One of the biggest new features in Version 1.3 is the ability to choose where imported Shopify products are published.

Shopify Category
Improved Shopify Category and Metafield Handling
This update improves how imported products are categorized and structured inside Shopify, giving stores better product organization and cleaner storefront data.
- Automatically sets imported trading card products to the Gaming Cards category where supported.
- Added support for card attributes, condition, rarity, and trading card package fields.
- Fixed sealed product type mapping so product type goes into Trading Card Package instead of Rarity.
- Improved custom metafield definition handling for stores missing required fields.
- Added better support for Shopify product filtering and structured product data.
Conditions
New Sealed Product Condition Support
Sealed product imports now support product condition selection, making the workflow much better for Japanese Pokémon products, no-shrink products, damaged items, opened products, and special inventory handling.
- Added per-product condition dropdowns.
- Default sealed product condition is now Sealed.
- Added support for No Shrink, Unsealed, Damaged, Opened, and Case Fresh conditions.
- Improved sealed product descriptions to include Name, Type, Set, Language, and Condition where available.
Premium UI
Premium UI Improvements Across Importing
The importing workflow has received a major visual upgrade so merchants can import cards and products with more confidence and less confusion.
- Added premium section containers for pricing and product settings.
- Removed unnecessary rarity toggle clutter and now auto-imports rarity by default.
- Added hover/click help cards with links to user guide sections.
- Fixed tooltip clipping and overflow issues inside Shopify modal layouts.
- Improved spacing, labels, price visibility, and import modal readability.
- Updated View All Cards import modal so it matches the newer card importing workflow.

New Shopify Permissions for Advanced Import Features
To support the new advanced import functionality, TCG Importer now uses additional Shopify permissions for inventory, locations, and publication management.
- Added support for Shopify location lookup to set inventory quantity correctly.
- Added inventory read/write support for quantity syncing.

- Existing users may be asked by Shopify to approve new app permissions when reopening TCG Importer.
