The World Showcase takes shape
Three decks. A January final. An early look at Legacy.
Riot has detailed its season-ending competition. Here is what stores should separate when talking about the event, previews and release availability.

The confirmed event details
Riot’s 5 November announcement places the World Showcase in Shanghai on 22–23 January 2027. Competitors will register three constructed decks with no shared Domains, including one designated for the playoffs. Nine Swiss rounds lead to a four-player knockout stage.
The notice says competitors receive the full Legacy list two weeks ahead of the event. Riot gives 29 January as the set’s release date, a week after the Showcase. Competitor access does not establish an earlier retail release or availability in every territory.
English coverage, Shanghai venue
The official English-language report also identifies an English serialized promo among the competitor prizes. We are covering that international organised-play announcement. The event’s location does not turn this into a Chinese-edition release report.
For your own calendar, keep an event date, a publisher’s product date and a supplier’s expected delivery date in separate fields. That makes it easier for staff to answer a customer asking whether a card seen on stream is already available to buy.
A useful store preparation checklist
A major broadcast can give your community a shared topic to discuss. Before planning a viewing session, check the official broadcast schedule and local time conversion; this announcement is not a confirmed start time for a store event. Keep any local activity distinct from the publisher’s competition.
If you prepare explanatory content, label the Showcase’s three-deck requirements as event-specific. Do not advertise those requirements as a change to every local tournament. Link to the organiser’s current rules when players need eligibility or registration advice.
Keep previews separate from stock
Preview interest and stock availability need different messages. A clear catalogue can explain which expansion a card belongs to while an inventory listing answers whether your store can supply it. Avoid attaching a purchase promise to a competitor preview.
Before opening a preorder, confirm the exact edition, supplier allocation and delivery terms. This report does not establish TCG Importer stock, a confirmed allocation or worldwide launch availability. Store recommendations here are editorial guidance, not a prediction of prices or demand.
